Buba

In the early days of streaming, my only regular viewer at the time (RetroGamer02) invited me to join his Discord server. This was the first Discord server I had ever joined. In that server, I noticed that some of the members would stream from time to time. I tried to stop by as many streams as I could, but I didn't find myself clicking with any of them.

Then I found Buba.

One of the earliest streams I recall of his was a Pokemon Crystal race (which was also my first introduction to Tracey.) The two were doing a race of Pokemon Crystal, and I noticed that there was a lot of playful back and forth banter between Buba and his chat. He seemed like someone who didn't take himself too seriously and was just there to have a good time, which I really loved.

Usually whenever I find a new streamer I try my hardest to be on my best behavior. This period usually lasts for a few weeks, as I slowly begin to get comfortable and test the waters with what I can get away with. The Pokemon Crystal stream really accelerated the process.

At one point, Buba was losing a bit of time trying to find a flying-type Pokemon, and I saw the potential for a bit of a funny moment. I had mentioned that due to a bug, Ratticate could learn Fly, and suggested he try to catch a Raticate instead, as they have a higher encounter rate and are easier to catch. It took a bit of convincing, but with Tracey's help, I was able to convince Buba that Raticate could learn fly. Eventually he caught a Raticate, and opened his bag to teach it Fly.

Unsurprisingly, this did not work.

Everyone would end up having a good laugh from the whole thing, and from then on I knew that I would find myself stopping into the ibuba7 streams more regularly.

The following years would prove to give me some of the biggest streamer/friendship brainrot I'd ever experience.
